"For me it is both a mission and a social responsibility to participate and contribute to this exhibition which I see as a historic turning point in Turkish design. In this exhibition's preparation many designers have joined in an important collaborative effort. Up to this point, Turkish designers had advanced through their own individual efforts, knowing each other by reputation only; they had rarely professionally worked together or united on a common platform to engage in the interchange of ideas such as we see in this exhibition. In the years leading up to this historical point, with the exception of a few designers, many have not had a chance to develop a mature body of work. Now with this exhibition, there is an opportunity in hand to present a rich group of products and designs that can be a catalyst in the development of Turkish design to draw the global attention it rightly deserves."
